These are sites I visit often, representative of the kind of stuff I
like:
The Official
Star Trek
website
(the place for all the official things from one of the greatest sci-fi
franchises
of all time)
The
Official Star Wars website
(the place for all the official things from another of the greatest
sci-fi
franchises of all time)
Blizzard Entertainment
(maker of great PC and Mac games, including StarCraft, WarCraft, and
Diablo)
MacGamer.com
(source of Mac gaming news)
Inside Mac Games
(another source of Mac gaming news)
Scifi.about.com
(regular updates on various sci-fi franchises)
Movie Trailers
from apple.com!
('nuff said)
Trekweb.com
(if you're looking for one of the most comprehensive unofficial Star
Trek
sites out there, this is a good bet. Features inside news coverage and
a
thriving community on its discussion boards)
Star Trek New Voyages
(a fan-made Star Trek series looking to finish up the last two years of
the five-year mission the Original Enterprise should have had. The
first episode kind of sucked, but the second one really rocks, and the
third one is currently in production. Sort of an Original Series remake
with state-of-the-art special effects and all-new actors playing the
characters on the show)
Starship Exeter
(another fan-made Star Trek series set during the era of the Original
Series but focussing on the story of the U.S.S. Exeter. Not quite up to
the caliber of New Voyages, but still loads of fun)
TheForce.net
(a nice unofficial Star Wars site)
FireflyFans.net
(Yep, I've got an all-new sci-fi obsession! Firefly was a TV series
created by Joss Whedon about a small band of outlaws struggling to make
a living on the frontiers of known space, in a universe set 500 years
into the future. It was cancelled after only 14 episodes were made, but
even in those precious few episodes you'll find a vast, intricate,
multi-layered universe that deserved to have its complete
story told. Fans managed to secure a sort-of revival with the making of
the big-screen movie Serenity, and thought it was quite good, its poor
box office leaves the future of this story in doubt. Nevertheless, the
best site to learn about and discuss all things Firefly and Serenity is
FireflyFans.net)
